The Physician Recruitment Program is fully prepared to provide family physicians and their families with a personalized itinerary designed to most effectively inform and encourage the family physician and his/her family to locate in the Barrie Area.

A full and complete tour of the area, tailored to your specific interests and including visits to a variety of family practice opportunities, meetings with doctors, other clinic representatives, and a tour of both the County and City areas and neighbourhoods will be arranged at your convenience.

We will arrange accommodations and most meals while on visits of a limited nature. Christie or other community volunteers will accompany you throughout your visit.

The Barrie Area Physician Recruitment Program is ready to make your move to our area as smooth and enjoyable as possible. We will help with real estate needs, legal services, moving services, financial services and a variety of other related needs.

And after your move, we will ensure your whole family feels comfortable and is supported as you develop your own circle of friends and knowledge of this area. Our program has an identified list of medical practitioners willing to be informal mentors for the physician of the family for as long as needed. And, for other members of the family, particularly a spouse or partner we have individuals within our community who are ready with support as desired.
