The Town of Innisfil is truly a “Community of Communities” with a population of more than 32,000 and a mix of urban and rural lifestyles.

One of the fastest growing communities in Ontario, Innisfil’s small villages and hamlets combine the charm of a rural atmosphere with the convenience and amenities of a vibrant urban municipality where property taxes are below average.

Cookstown is located in the southwestern corner of Innisfil, only four kilometers west of Highway 400. The village is a popular tourist destination, with a variety of antique specialty stores and a large warehouse outlet mall. Sandy Cove Acres is the largest adult lifestyle community in Ontario.

The Town of Innisfil, being located along the Lake Simcoe shoreline, attracts thousands of local residents and tourists to the area every year to enjoy waterfront areas.

The most significant of the public resources is Innisfil Beach Park which provides a wide range of active and passive opportunities including a large beach area. The town’s recreation master plan shows that about 55 per cent of residents responding to a recent survey indicated that they use Innisfil Beach Park – located at the end of Innisfil Beach Road (8th Line of Innisfil)

In addition, the town offers a number of other park sites along the lake including the 10th Line Park and Belle Ewart Park. Visitors also enjoy various road allowances that extend to the waterfront. In fact, there are 32 such road ends in the town, occupying a total of 4.4 hectares of land. Some are more developed than others – many providing access to cottages or year-round homes, boat launches or small beachfronts.
