Clinical Cardiologist

Job Description

The Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, proud recipient of the Healthy Hospital Innovators Award, is a state-of-the-art facility located in Barrie, one of the fastest growing cities in Canada. Only moments away from beautiful beaches, ski resorts, and cottage country, you will enjoy theatre, golfing, boating, skiing, and cycling!

RVH has experienced tremendous growth over the past decade, including the largest capital project in Simcoe Muskoka history. As part of this expansion, we have recently opened up a dedicated Cardiac Care Unit as well as a new ward for cardiac patients.

We are seeking one additional clinical cardiologist interested in taking part in our development and growth to join our team of nine. Plans for the cardiovascular development program include opening a cardiac catheterization program (to include primary PCI) and the creation of a pacemaker implant program as well as cardiac CT and MRI imaging. In addition to your role in the advancement of the program, you will provide cardiology call and share in access to cardiovascular resources.

You must be certified in cardiology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or equivalent), have an MD, and be eligible for licensure in the Province of Ontario. The program is looking for additional fellowship training in cardiac device interrogation and implantation in order to support our future pacemaker implantation program and growth of the pacemaker clinic.

A faculty position and opportunities for teaching with the University of Toronto are also available.
