arrie’s Family Medicine Teaching Unit received a cheque from the Greater Barrie Chamber of Commerce in a welcome presentation to the new Family Medicine Residents that are calling Barrie home for the next two years of their residency. “With thousands of Barrie residents without a family physician, initiatives like the FMTU are a crucial step towards getting the services our community needs,” chamber executive director Sybil Goruk said.

The Family Medicine Teaching Unit of the University of Toronto and Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre graduated 10 of their Family Medicine Residents. Seven of the ten residents will be practicing within the Barrie Area with 2 extending their education for 6 months in the RVH Emergency Department. Congratulations to all of the graduates and good luck with all of your future endeavors!
