The Birthing Unit delivers 2000+ births per year and has excellent support from both the Pediatric and Anesthesia Departments. Our NICU is a level 2C unit, which provides care for infants at or above 30 weeks gestation. Our surgical program has state of the art MIS operating suites. The Surgery Department at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) is implementing both a robotics program (Da Vinci) to enhance the delivery of Gynecologic care as well as the Acessa (minimally invasive technology for treatment of fibroids). This cutting-edge approach reflects RVH’s commitment to advancing surgical care and meeting the growing needs of the community. 

We have a full Colposcopy Program with a central referral system in place, as well as the Regional Gynecologic Oncology program that provides excellent care and support for our community. The RVH Department of Obstetrics offers a dedicated Physician Assistant, available Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm. RVH is seeking an adult Infectious Disease Specialist to expand Infectious Disease services at RVH and across the region.

The successful candidate will provide consultations on patients with infectious diseases in ambulatory (that are within hospital) and inpatient settings. They will support and work collaboratively with the antimicrobial stewardship team. The ideal candidate should possess expertise to manage infections in immunocompromised patients and will be responsible for providing outpatient care to a diverse group of patients (including patient with Hepatitis C, HIV and complex wound infections). However, please note that this clinical expertise is not mandatory for applicants. 

To ensure the sustained success and support the future growth of Infectious Disease Services, RVH will provide the following resources:
