Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre and The Barrie Paediatric Associates are seeking a General Consultant Paediatrician to join the group effective immediately.
The successful applicant will join a group of 9 consultant paediatricians and will practice in a variety of settings including outpatient office based clinics, hospital based subspecialty clinics and hospital inpatient and emergency coverage. In addition, the applicant will be expected to participate in general paediatric call at RVH. Excellent remuneration is in the framework of an Alternate Payment Plan from the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care.
All candidates must be certified or eligible for certification in Paediatric Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and be eligible for an Ontario license through the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
RVH currently has 319 beds plus 12 bassinets in the Level 2 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). There are currently 16 Obstetrical beds, 10 Paediatric beds and over 2,000 babies born each year at RVH. RVH has a very busy emergency department with approximately 85,000 visits per year with paediatrics representing about 17% of those visits. RVH offers programs and services not found elsewhere in the region such as the region’s only Interventional Radiology suites for minimally invasive surgeries; RIVA – a robotic arm for the preparation of chemotherapy treatments – the first of its kind in Canada; one of the country’s first fully automated laboratories; the latest and most advanced MRI technology – to name just a few. Additionally, RVH has many academic partnerships and affiliations including an official partnership with the University of Toronto, Department of Family and Community Medicine.
