Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) is an Advanced Level II facility with stroke designation, serving the needs of more than 450, 000 residents of the City of Barrie and the surrounding areas. RVH is a 466 bed acute care facility with a team of over 470 physicians, 3590 staff members and 850 volunteers. RVH provides healthcare specializing in cancer care, a wide array of surgical services, state-of-the-art imaging and interventional radiology, cardiac services, critical care, mental health rehabilitation services, as well as women and children's programs.

The Program
The Hospitalist Program at RVH has been in existence since early 2001. The program has evolved since its inception, with the addition of more Hospitalists to support the growing number of unassigned patients to the Barrie Area along with the expanding local population and has received much support from our hospital administration. The Hospitalist Program at RVH is a Family medicine-based program. We are responsible for the hospital care of unassigned patients both acute care and ALC, who would otherwise be admitted under their Family physician. We receive a great deal of support from our specialist colleagues who provide care for our patients either as consultants or as the most responsible physician. We are a very homogenous team with an excellent reputation throughout the hospital.
The Opportunity
We are seeking energetic hard-working physicians to join our cohesive and dynamic group of Hospitalists. Physicians choosing our area will enjoy the benefits of collegial and supportive consultants both in the community and at RVH.
Candidates must possess a CCFP with or without third year training in Hospitalist medicine, CCFP (EM) or GP equivalent qualification for our program. We are committed to ongoing evaluation to continue developing new patient care strategies, as well as improving physician job satisfaction.
