Position Overview
The Department of Critical Care at RVH is seeking an Associate Part-Time Intensivist to join our team. This position involves a 12-week annual commitment, divided between Critical Care Outreach Team (CCOT) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) service.
Posting close date: May 31, 2026
Anticipated start date: February 2027 (with flexibility to begin earlier)
A select number of shortlisted applicants will be invited to participate in locum opportunities in Fall 2026 prior to final selection.
Qualifications
Applicants must:

	
Have successfully completed an accredited Canadian Royal College Critical Care program
	
Be certified in Critical Care Medicine or eligible to sit the Canadian Royal College examination

Preference will be given to candidates with additional expertise in areas such as:

	
Neurocritical care
	
Anesthesia
	
Palliative care
	
Education

While this role is primarily within Critical Care, efforts will be made to support clinical practice in the successful candidate’s base specialty, where feasible.

Stand-alone department with strong physician leadership representation, including roles in research and medical education
