RVH is seeking an adult Infectious Disease Specialist to expand Infectious Disease services at RVH and across the region.
The successful candidate will provide consultations on patients with infectious diseases in ambulatory (that are within hospital) and inpatient settings. They will support and work collaboratively with the antimicrobial stewardship team. The ideal candidate should possess expertise to manage infections in immunocompromised patients and will be responsible for providing outpatient care to a diverse group of patients (including patient with Hepatitis C, HIV and complex wound infections). However, please note that this clinical expertise is not mandatory for applicants.
To ensure the sustained success and support the future growth of Infectious Disease Services, RVH will provide the following resources:
- Competitive daily stipend for consultation services, from Monday to Friday and excluding Saturday, Sunday and holidays
- HOCC daily on-call stipend for virtual services, if clinically required
- Operational management of the Infectious Disease Clinic, which operates twice per week, for approximately 4.5 hours. RVH will provide administrative, clerical and nursing support. Outpatient clinical time will progressively increase as time evolves.
The successful candidate will be a member of the Department of Medicine, and work in collaboration with an interprofessional team, including:
- Internal Medicine Ambulatory Clinics
- Closed ICU and CCU
- CCOT services
- Subspecialty consultation and support
- General Internal Medicine and Hospitalist inpatient services, with an ability to participate in that model as desired
- Regional Cancer Program
- Regional Renal Program
- University of Toronto Family Medicine Teaching Unit and opportunity for University of Toronto Faculty appointment
Applicants must be certified FRCP(C) in Infectious Disease and be eligible for an Ontario license through the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). The anticipated start date will be mutually agreed upon date.
